Job Summary We are seeking an experiencedVeterinary Technician Assistant for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, Nevada.

The Veterinary Technician Assistantis responsible for the following:

Assisting the veterinary staff in the documentation and management of all laboratory animal health cases for rodents and non-human primates. Responsible for daily health observations,preventive health care andenvironmental enrichment. Handling and restraint of laboratory animals. Performing and beiing proficient in basic veterinary technical skills (i.e. treatments, collection of biological samples, TB tests, veterinary observations, etc). Assist in keeping inventory and stocking the vet rooms (i.e. drugs and supplies). Assist in organizing and maintaining the vet exam rooms. Other related duties as assigned.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.). 1-2 years related experience in a laboratory animal facility.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Proficient in MS Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALAT Certification. Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
