Data Admin Specialist

Designs or modifies data models to solve complex database requirements considering business and application needs. Organizes metadata for use by teams.

Essential Functions
Plans, conducts and coordinates the design of data model designs and metadata management.

Administrate, monitor, analyzed, and resolved problems with SQL Server 2008/2012/2017

Supporting existing SSIS packages and resolving by developing bug fixes
Provides application-level data modeling for project development teams.
Assists with creating and maintaining enterprise-wide data standards.
Assists with the implementation of metadata management tools.
Facilitates formal and informal discussions to support database designs.
Participates in the implementation and management of the global metadata repository.
Identifies metadata sources, develops metadata management capabilities, monitors metadata quality, and develops common data definitions.
Coordinates testing and documentation of the global metadata repository and conducts user interviews to gather metadata requirements to insure business requirements are met.

Ensure Database backups run as expected and recovery processes are tested

Support developers and end users troubleshooting application issues.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related discipline or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience Req
• Database systems knowledge with a minimum of five (5) years IT with two (2) year’s experience in the data administration area. Req

4 years experience certified MS SQL servers and Databases administrator 2008/2012/2017

2 years experience MS sql development

2 years experience with My SQL

Knowledge of Health and Pharma data an asset
