We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst, Revenue Recognition Accounting for our Corporate Revenue Accounting team to be located remotely or at our location in Wilmington MA. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting revenue operations through executing accounting close and process improvement activities, including compiling, analyzing and review of data to drive journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•    Review project planned cost templates to ensure alignment with estimates

•    Investigate systemic cost and revenue variances at the site level

•    Lead process improvement of percentage of completion revenue controls

•    Support site conversion from local accounting systems to SAP Project Systems

•    Facilitate new reporting for percentage of completion revenue

•    Perform in-depth revenue fluctuation analyses

•    Collaborate with global Time Keeping and Project Coordination teams to monitor harmonization across sites 

•    Coordinate control requirements and review control results with sites

•    Approve evidence of percentage of completion controls

•    Analyze and record lose contract accrual

•    Run and analyze Project System reports

•    Work with sites to resolve  percentage of completion related issues

•    Perform monthly and quarterly close process for certain business units and revenue cycles (for example: revenue, cost of sales, deferred revenue, unbilled A/R, allowances for returns, rebates, royalties, and discounts).

•    Gather, consolidate, and analyze monthly and quarterly data to prepare or review required adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations

•    Perform critical review of P&L and balance sheet account fluctuations and understand the underlying business explanations

•    Drive improvement and simplification activities through critical review of processes, stakeholders, systems, and data

•    Assist in the preparation of reporting for revenue accounting and business needs

•    Perform SOX revenue control activities and certifications, as applicable 

•    Assist in the preparation of ASC 606 related disclosures for CRL's SEC filings, including MD&A flux discussions by reportable and/or operating segment

•    Support year end external audits and quarterly reviews

•    Ensure compliance with FASB revenue recognition standards

•    Perform all other related duties as assigned Job Qualifications

•    Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) in Finance/Accounting.

•    Experience: Five to seven years' experience working in revenue accounting positions. Public Accounting experience a plus. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially in the areas of revenue recognition. Knowledge of ASC 606 is a plus.

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Certification/Licensure: None

•    Other: Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, especially in the areas of revenue recognition. Experience with multinational operations preferred. Excellent communication (written and oral) and collaboration skills required. Hands on experience with enterprise level financial software system, ideally SAP. Strong computer skills, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively and independently.
