Lead Outcomes Researcher

Home based anywhere in the UK, or Office based in Lyon, France or Gaithersburg, US.

The work of the PCO group focuses on patient-centred research, including health related quality of life, disease signs and symptoms, treatment preference, adherence and satisfaction.

The group is respected globally for the quality and innovation of their applied qualitative and quantitative work. Much of their work involves Clinical Outcome Assessment (COA) endpoint/instrument selection and regulatory support; COA instrument development and psychometric validation; study design, analysis and interpretation; COA quantitative analysis; utility measurement; and patient preference studies.

Summary:

As Lead Outcomes Researcher you will manage both projects and research teams, including day-to-day liaison with clients. You will also need to be capable of contributing to publications/scientific communications, to demonstrate and actively promote an open and honest working environment, encourage close teamwork and foster knowledge transfer.

Key responsibilities:

Develops study designs and analytic plans to answer research questions.

Identify internal and external expertise to work on specific project tasks

Leads development of qualitative and/or qualitative data analysis plans and generates report fit for client submission

Leads the cleaning of data, conduct of detailed quantitative analysis, write up of results, and generation of reports fit for client submission

Leads development of deliverable document outline and format.

Identifies dependencies between separate deliverables and manages the trade-offs to achieve overall objectives

Maintains familiarity with current scientific literature and drives the development of team members' comprehension of current scientific literature.

Supports other project activities as needed, completes internal documentation and quality-checks the work of others.

Analyzes research problem and conceptually pieces individual scientific tasks together to determine how the overall scientific goal will be achieved

Develops a comprehensive set of sound recommendations on scientific methods and approaches that help clients meet their goals as well as identify those that will not help clients meet their goals

Conceptualizes and drafts, or leads, a complete proposal based on a client idea or RFP.

Leads project teams as project director.

The ideal candidate will possess:

Bachelor's degree, or local equivalent in a related field (such as public health, psychology, or related discipline). Post-graduate qualification in a related field preferred (e.g. MSc, PhD/DPhil, Clinical).

Experience of both conducting health research and managing research projects

Leadership experience in project management

Experience of working in a healthcare/consultancy environment.

Demonstrable experience of qualitative research and related technical skills
