As an Associate Scientist/Scientist you will provide lab and analytical support of early phase Small Molecule GMP manufacture of Drug Substance and Drug Product. You will perform basic laboratory duties such as accurate weighing, solution preparations, and analytical instrument setup. This position focuses on maintaining GMP laboratory equipment for Small Molecule Analytical and Quality Control Laboratories.

This is an analytical lab technician position and does not include any operational manufacturing duties.

Additional responsibilities while working onsite at a major biotechnology customer:Maintaining instruments in a ready state for usersPreparing mobile phases and reagentsPerforming initial troubleshooting of systems. If initial troubleshooting is not effective, report issues via internal Work Order Notification system.Providing support for continuous improvement projects for Facilities, Quality, and Small Molecule QC Lab.Scheduling preventative maintenance (PM) & repairs with system owners, vendors, Facilities & Instrument Services & for SMACQC lab equipment.Coordinating with Facilities & Instrument Services to create repetitive maintenance plans.Ordering chemicals and supplies.Conducting routine inspections of the labs to ensure compliance with local housekeeping and Environment, Health and Safety practices.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Analytical Sciences or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 1 year) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

In somecases,an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of applicable regulatory authority, compendia and ICH guidelines

Ability to understand and independently apply GMPs and /or GLPs to everyday workaboutdocumentation and instrument useKnowledgeable in HPLC, SFC, KF titrations, pH, West Chemistry (USP) preferred

Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks

Ability to independently optimize analytical methods

Good written and oral communication skills

Time management and project management skills

Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities

Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
