Job Overview

Provide supervision for and assist with the management of staff in Wet Laboratories. Supervise daily operations. Ensure project schedules are met in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Laboratory Practice requirements. Performs work in accordance with ICH E6 Guideline for Good Clinical Practice.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the workload of wet laboratory staff.
• Perform capacity planning and scheduling wet lab resources with Scheduling Analyst, Project Leaders and the management team.
• Assist with tracking department productivity.
• Provide time and resources for training wet laboratory staff.
• Assist, as necessary, in the training of new wet laboratory staff and ensure consistency in analytical technique and use of equipment.
• Ensure the labs maintain the highest level of performance in technical procedures such as method validation experiments, sample preparation, and preparing solutions and reagents.
• Ensure the labs demonstrate excellence in documentation according to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) requirements and proficiency in relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in the interview and hire of new wet laboratory scientists as capacity dictates.
• Ensure wet laboratory equipment is operational and maintained to optimum operating conditions at all times.
• Uphold all safety standards, discipline guidelines and regulatory compliance requirements with all assigned staff.
• Maintain the scientific integrity of the data produced by wet laboratory team.
• Maintain effective communication between the wet laboratory staff and other departments.
• Communicate department issues and provides status updates to management team.
• Assist with purchasing and approval of laboratory supplies.
• Participate in establishing budgets for areas of responsibility. Work within established budgets.
• Manage staff in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and guiding professional development; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee relations issues and resolving problems.  Approve actions on human resources matters.
• Comply with all applicable regulatory standards, including Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices.

Minimum required education and experience

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 3 years’ related experience required Or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience Req

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

• Ability to perform accurate and precise processing of client samples.
• Ability to follow written and oral scientific directions.
• Ability to adhere to IQVIA and client Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ability to complete documentation per IQVIA and GLP requirements, as applicable.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.
• Working knowledge in various functional areas including LC/MS/MS, Laboratory Operations, and Project Management.
• Attention to detail.
