Due to a growing portfolio, we are currently looking for a Data Surveillance Analyst in South Africa with flexible working hours.

At Parexel, Data Surveillance Analyst provides analytical and technical expertise to Sustainability & Process Management staff within one or more projects or across projects, as assigned. This includes data source configuration, development, design, release, training, standardization. Oversee and focus on in-depth analysis of Key Performance Metrics and Indicators across the Sustainability model.

Demonstrate agile practices, dynamic team collaboration, informative metrics, lean development and continuous improvement.

Skills:

  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma, Process Excellence, or similar methodologies 

  • Ability to learn and understand the business to support the development of solutions that are low maintenance and provide high value 

  • Computer literacy and expertise with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Business Objects Reports, SharePoint, HTML, TIBCO Spotfire, PowerBI (or equivalent) 

  • Knowledge or experience with Business Intelligence Dashboards, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, database structures, programming languages (i.e., SQL, Python) 

  • Understanding standards for data models, data warehouse and reporting performance-tuning techniques.

  • Good presentation skills – ability to present effectively to technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels including senior and executive level.

  • Positive attitude and ability to adjust to changing priorities, time zones, work assignments, unforeseen events, and new learning 

  • Culturally aware and ability to think and work with virtual/global teams and travel as needed 

  • Excellent listening skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority across all levels and functions, to gain trust and client-focused approach to work 

  • Highly motivated, deliver work on time with high level of quality, ability to work with minimal supervision 

  • Exhibits a sense of urgency about solving problems and completing work 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and decision-making skills, business understanding, and strong organizational skills.

  • Strong coaching skills. Ability to step outside role confines and help teach and enable / empower other team members

  • Must be proficient in Agile methodology

  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail

  • Willingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Good understanding of technology & analytical skills as it relates to clinical trial activities, data warehouses and applicable GCP regulations pertaining to computer systems 

  • Business Intelligence and/or Statistical Data Analysis experience preferred.

Education:

  • Educated to degree level (technology, business administration & economics, biological science, pharmacy, or other health related discipline preferred) or equivalent qualification, or 2+ years clinical research experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience, Green Belt or advanced preferred.
