Position Overview:

Responsible for the overall coordination and management of multiple real world evidence studies from project start-up through to project close-out. The Project Manager will perform the operational task as well as contract with 3rd party vendors; coordinate activities of the project team; ensure quality management and compliance across projects; work with the project team to identify potential risks and proactively identify responses to those risks; and track, monitor, and analyze project status to ensure successful completion of project deliverables to agreed budget and timelines.  The Project Manager should be able to work across internal systems (e.g., Clinical Development Services Division and Evidera); be able to problem-solve and pioneer new pathways through complexity while securing the successful completion of client deliverables; and use good judgment to make sound business decisions and ensure solutions are implemented.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Manages allocated studies and consulting projects according to timelines, SOPs, best practices, and quality standards. Coordinates activities of all functional departments, and vendors contracted by the sponsor that are involved in the project. Works with team and management to develop plans for project implementation. Monitors and analyzes project status to ensure successful completion of project parameters, milestones, and timetables
  • Acts as principal liaison between Client and Evidera by setting expectations and facilitating the flow of information. Provides Clients with timely project updates and project related fiscal information.
  • Obtains and addresses feedback from Clients regarding Evidera’s performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plans and communicates to team members specific tasks and priorities for projects. Delegates, as appropriate, assigned responsibilities to project team members. Liaises with Principal Investigator/Lead Scientist in all practice areas within Evidera and Clinical Development Services Division to optimize performance and utilization of the project team members.
  • Appropriately escalates any issues or potential issues to the Principal Investigator/Lead Scientist and Evidera Project Management Office Director for all project related issues.
  • Works closely with finance and legal to manage all financial and contractual aspects of the project including establishing and recognizing financial milestones for invoice and subcontractor purposes, subcontracting with third-party service providers, approving subcontractor invoices, and assisting with negotiation of pass-throughs.
  • Works with the project team to establish appropriate controls to ensure that project resources and expenses are aligned with budgets.
  • Proactively manages project finances to ensure on-budget delivery; identifies and discusses the need for amendments with internal and client teams as appropriate.  Works closely with Principal Investigator/Lead Scientist as it relates to outlining project amendments and budget negotiation. Attends bid defenses as necessary.
  • Manage client communications and works to prepare and present at client meetings as the assigned Project Manager.

Managerial Duties:No line management responsibility.

Education, Professional Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic qualification required.
  • Master's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 5+ years of previous project management experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job or equivalent and relevant combination of education and training.
  • Some knowledge or work experience in clinical research studies and real-world evidence in consulting, clinical research organization or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Ability to effectively use automated systems and computerized applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Project, SharePoint, etc.

ADA Requirements

  • Normal and routine office duties.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel is expected.
