As a Research Scientist you will conduct and provide technical guidance on scientific method development and validation projects and/or other specialty technologies studies OR perform troubleshooting for your own and others instruments, methods, procedures, and in write protocols and reports.

Responsibilities

Key member of diverse team of vaccine scientists to develop animal models and immunologic assays to screen and evaluate the potency, safety and the mechanisms of action of vaccine candidates and to support platform technology development.

Has in depth knowledge of related scientific disciplines in particular advanced knowledge of immunology principles, vaccine-related innate and adaptive immune responses and mechanism of action of vaccines.

Hands-on lab experience in performing all kinds of immunological assays with a focus on cellular immunology assays such as characterization of vaccine specific T-cell and B-cell subsets and innate immune cells by intracellular cytokine staining (ICS) and multi-parameter flow cytometry (FACS) etc. as they apply to vaccine discovery/development.

Proficient in analysis of complex high dimensional flowcytometry data using FlowJo, R program, Spice, Pestle etc. and use of GraphPad (Prism), SAS, Microsoft Office tools and other software.

Experienced in performing preclinical in vivo animal vaccine studies in mice, NHP and other animal models and analysis of immune cells from various tissues. Prior experience in working with CRO’s is preferred.

Interprets results and communicates to his/her supervisor and/or designs next logical step of experiments based on interpretation of results.

Executes a range of experiments/technical studies/tasks independently based on protocol including animal vaccine studies, ICS, FACS, antibody assays etc. to evaluate vaccine immunogenicity.

Designs and executes new methods and protocols related to area of expertise and/or proactively incorporates new technology or techniques into practice with minimal supervision.

Prepares detailed oral or written summaries of results with interpretation for projects/programs. Independently writes specific technical sections of internal, external reports and scientific papers
