Associate Principal, Retrospective

LOCATION: Homebased USA

Associate Principal – Health Economics/Outcomes Research, US Medical and Scientific Services 

Associate Principals (AP) have explicit recognition as senior team members and have management responsibility for the on-time delivery of US-based projects and, in some cases, components of global projects for clients in the life sciences industry (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, diagnostics). The AP is expected to provide scientific leadership and delivery excellence across a wide variety of therapeutic areas and have a deep understanding of data analysis and evidence generation. APs are also responsible for mentoring, coaching and development of junior staff within and outside project teams, including potential line management responsibility. The AP reports to a US Real-World Evidence practice lead.  This is a Director-level position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leads teams of HEOR professionals in the design, development, delivery and publication of consulting projects in the following areas:
  • Retrospective outcomes research (burden of disease, patient journey, comparative effectiveness research)
  • Prospective outcomes research (registries, surveys)
  • Literature reviews
  • Quality of life HEOR strategy
  • Value development planning

• Provide scientific in put leadership to statistical analysis plans and study design
• Provides coaching and mentorship to other team members assigned to multiple projects at any one time, planning, assigning and directing work, and guiding professional development. 
• Develops project plans with timelines and deliverables and leads projects to successful completion, on-time and on-budget, from start to finish
• Provides high level insight to and ensures development of the design, structure and delivery of client reports and presentations that are appropriate to the characteristics or needs of the audience.
• Recommends improvements and alternative solutions to resolve problems.
• Identifies new business opportunities of follow-on work and new leads at assigned client.
• Provides and manages communication with client throughout the project lifecycle and after project deliverable has been completed to ensure client satisfaction.
• Supports the practice in developing deeper knowledge of related consulting methodologies and pharmaceutical market through on the job experience and participation in training opportunities. 
• Proactively continues to develop specific subject matter expertise through on the job experience, participation in conferences and symposiums and other forums for professional knowledge sharing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BSc in science or economics or related discipline
• MBA, MHA/MPH or PharmD/RPh or PhD in economics, healthcare or related area desirable

EXPERIENCE, TECHNICAL AND PERSONAL SKILLS

Demonstrated experience in a wide range of health economics and outcomes research projects, knowledge of consulting approaches, and understanding of key issues and developments within the life sciences industry
