Translational R&D Research Associate 2 - Looking for a candidate with ELISA experience

Job Overview
The Senior Scientist will be responsible for development and validation of molecular assays requiring isolation of nucleic acid and detection using amplification, nucleic acid sequencing, genotyping, or gene expression analysis. The ideal candidate will have a molecular biology, oncology, immunology, and/or human genetics background, strong communication and organizational skills, leads by influence, and strong problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions
• Contribute to scientific literature and conferences, internal reports, document and communications
• Support the maintenance and operational standards of laboratory equipment.  Some involvement in the evaluation and validation of new laboratory instrumentation required including the support of IQ/OQ/PQ documentation.
• Support the development of new and existing experimental techniques
• Execute scientific experiments and methods with moderate supervision including devising short and long-term experimental goals and trouble-shooting strategies
• Provide and disseminate meaningful data analysis and interpretation of experimental findings in acceptable laboratory formats
• Provide project updates/reports of pre-clinical discovery deliverables to project manager, as requested
• Ensure quality and timely delivery of pre-clinical discovery deliverables to clients
• Maintain laboratory notebooks under GLP compliancy and follow all appropriate laboratory and company SOPs.  May review laboratory notebooks.
• Provide training and guidance to lower level and new staff as required

Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree Or educational equivalent in cell biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, pharmacology or related field Req
• 5 years relevant experience Req Or
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Req
• Sound knowledge of human cellular or molecular biology concepts and experimental techniques
• Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
• Effective communication skills and presentation skills
• Ability to effectively manage and execute multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
• Ability to write scientific and technical documents for internal communications
• Ability to work closely with multiple departments and to contribute in multi-disciplinary discussions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, and clients
• Ability to maintain a moderate degree of independence coupled with high motivation needed to complete assigned tasks and projects
