We are seeking an Scientist for our Bioanalytical Team located in Mattawan, MI. 

 

 

Job Location : Charles River Laboratories, Inc., 54943 N Main St, Mattawan, MI 49071. 40 hours per week, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Salary $85,764.90 per year.   Participate in leading the development and validation of bioanalytical methods and procedures, to either quantify/synthesize chemical entities, prepare formulated test articles or supporting compounds, or conduct studies of chemical compounds in vitro or in vivo, according to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols and/or GxP regulations. Specific tasks include the following: Plan and conduct complex projects in basic and applied research; Scientific review of data, including the preparation of technical reports, research papers, and recommendations based on his research findings; Coordination of laboratory activities for method development and validation; and Communication with external customers regarding research findings.

  Participate in process improvement initiatives including: data review and approval workflows, accelerate reporting timelines, implement to sample analysis and preparation schemes and technologies.

  Specific tasks include the following: Identify and remove inefficiencies in the data workflow to reduce time for review; Review literature and the findings of other researchers and attend conferences; and Evaluate literature for analysis methods. Use his bioanalytical expertise to lead others through scientific mentorship and publications. Specific tasks include the following: Providing direction and training to laboratory staff; Scientific discussions with external customers; Present data at internal and external scientific meetings with scientists, engineers, and other colleagues.

  Job Qualifications  

 

The following are the minimum requirements related to the Scientist position.

  Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent, plus five (5) years of related bioanalytical industry experience. 

 

The experience (which may be gained concurrently) must also include each of the following:

  2 years working in a contract research organization, specializing in bioanalysis; 2 years of experience using laboratory software applications such as Analyst® or WatsonTM LIMS; 2 years of experience reviewing bioanalytical method validation data; 1 year of project management experience in a bioanalytical laboratory.
