(Senior) Scientific Data Strategy Lead

Job Purpose:

The Scientific Data Organization (SDO) at PAREXEL supports real-world data (RWD)-based solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech customers at any stage of drug development. These solutions include, but are not limited to, real-world evidence (RWE) generation, patient safety and pharmacovigilance, patient & site recruitment and feasibility, study optimizations, etc. The primary role of the Scientific data strategy Lead / Senior Scientific data strategy Lead is to support the regional Europe and Canada team at SDO in developing a RWD strategy to best suit PAREXEL’s business. Specifically, this role will support landscaping and appraising RWD sources across Europe and Canada. The successful candidate will be given ample opportunities to develop skills necessary to succeed in a career within the rapidly growing field of RWD.

Essential Function and Key Accountabilities:

RWD Landscape and Access Assist in recognizing gaps in PAREXEL’s RWD coverage in Europe and Canada Identify, assessing, and appraising RWD sources across Europe and Canada Support and drive decision-making on strategic partnerships to access RWD sources across Europe and Canada Support and drive relationship development and contracting with RWD partners in Europe and Canada Advance internal knowledge of existing RWD partnerships at SDO Create, maintain and update knowledge of RWD partners in Europe and Canada Maintain and update knowledge of regulations on access to secondary data in Europe and Canada

Cooperation with cross functional teams within PAREXEL Support other SDO functions on project and non-project tasks Develop and maintain working relationships with other business units at PAREXEL: RWE, Global Data Operations, Clinical Research Operations, etc. Cooperate with Procurement, Risk Management and Legal business units to support onboarding and contracting new RWD partners

Compliance to SDO and PAREXEL standards Ensure compliance with operating standards, policies, regulations, SOPs, privacy, and data security standards Attend SDO team meetings on a regular basis to ensure that team objectives are met; ensure the on-going communication to team members of the status of assigned work throughout, including significant changes in scope of work and timelines Complete required training

Knowledge and Experience: Understanding the essence of RWD (e.g., sources of RWD) Understanding of healthcare setup in Europe and (optionally) Canada Basic knowledge of drug development process within the pharmaceutical industry Solid understanding of how to conduct a scientific study with propriety on the mainstream therapeutic areas within pharmaceutical industry Cross-functional experience in the healthcare, healthcare research and RWD-related environments Understanding of secondary use of healthcare data in the context of the pharmaceutical- and biotech industry Basic understanding of application processes relevant to secondary use of healthcare data (e.g., approvals from ethics and scientific committees, data applications, etc.)

Education: PhD (MD), or equivalent plus experience in healthcare-related fields (e.g., biomedical, epidemiology, public health, RWD/RWE) Verbal and written fluency in English is mandatory Knowledge of additional European languages is a merit
