In this position you will work in a state-of-the-art pre-clinical imaging facility located at the client site in Collegeville, PA. The facility houses: a radiochemistry lab; Mediso MultiScan LFER150 PET/CT; Siemens Inveon PET/SPECT/CT; Bruker 4.7T/40 cm horizontal and 9.4T/8.9 cm vertical MRI systems; GE & VisualSonics Ultrasound; IVIS and FMT Optical imaging systems; and Laser Doppler imaging equipment. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals interested in delivering opportunity for translational pre-clinical imaging to support drug discovery and development efforts in a broad therapeutic space including Vaccine, Oncology, Immuno-Inflammation, Infectious Disease, Respiratory and Neurodegeneration. A goal of this position will be to develop and use in-vivo nuclear imaging capabilities in small and large animals to better inform drug discovery teams on optimal molecule and clinical dose selection. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of biologists and pharmacologists as well as with an experienced team of imaging scientists at the client site. Therefore, there will be opportunity to learn and employ additional non-invasive imaging modalities to address the needs of the drug discovery programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for delivering the in-vivo preclinical nuclear biodistribution imaging needs of the organization. Perform in-vivo imaging studies to support the needs of Discovery and Platform Technology business partners ranging from drug design through safety evaluation to product/device development. Provide imaging guidance/solutions and collaborate closely with the Bioimaging department. Responsible for study support and data generation/management and communication to project/program teams. Responsible for working with external collaborators (academic centers, and CROs) to develop new imaging methods. Responsible of publishing new research findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at International conferences. Responsible for implementing and maintaining service contracts with imaging vendors. Responsible for animal care and use protocol writing and oversight of the animal imaging protocols. Assure high standards for animal care and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics, Biochemistry, or Biomedical or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationPhD degree is strongly preferred.

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8 years).Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral and/or industrial experience working with non-invasive nuclear imaging technologies (PET/SPECT/CT) is required.

Strong PET Scan experience is required.

Experience in performing in-vivo nuclear imaging in animals and have training in integrative physiology and/or pharmacology is required.

Full understanding of laboratory requirements, SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidanceFull knowledge of technical operating systemsProven technical writing skillsProven problem solving and troubleshooting abilitiesEffective written and oral communication skills as well as presentation skillsTime management and project management skillsAbility to mentor others on technical operating systemsAbility to independently review and understand project proposals/plansAbility to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
