The Sr. Lab Tech/Scientific Affairs Specialist leads scientific, technical and business development aspects within the laboratory. Consults extensively with Business Development and Clients as well as other internal departments on new business timelines, technical and compliance issues, and project-related matters. Works closely with the director in strategic planning, business development, and expansion initiatives.

Essential Functions:

Interacts extensively with business development directors, and prapares and determines quotation, pricing, project initiation and scheduling as it relates to scientific and technical capabilities of the laboratory operations.

Participates in strategic planning, capabilities development, prepares projections, revenue tracking, and other financial-related issues.

With management, initiates and implements plans to develop and improve area in the laboratory for greater efficiency, productivity, and quality. Oversees and coordinates projects between laboratories or functional teams. Works with QA department in improving laboratory quality.

Participates in client, QA, facility, and project audits and prepares responses to audits as needed.

Completes technical and scientific related special projects.

Serves as a liaison to various lab departments and functions such as ensuring overall timeline deliverables involving Assay Services, Sample Management, QC, and QA. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

MT(ASCP) certification or equivalent certification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

In-depth knowledge and proficiency in chromatographic science-based bioanalysis (i.e., LC-MS and LC-MS/MS) and related analytical chemistry technologies

Solid understanding of laboratory operations and business acumen in regarding to resourcing, timeline, quality, forecast, profit and loss

Excellent customer service mindset and strong client relationship management/building

Full understanding of laboratory requirements, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidance

Proven experience in working efficiently in a regulated and fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Critical thinking skills to support quality decision making

Time management and organization skills

Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload

Ability to adapt and adjust to changing priorities and expectations

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Ready to work on undefined areas as needs arise
