Parexel has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Director, Clinical Operations – Risk Based Monitoring. This home-based position reports to the Vice President of Clinical Operations and will be leader in our Risk Based Services initiative. The individual selected for this position will support the mission of the Initiative by leading the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of processes associated with our Risk Based Services (RBS) to deliver against our RBS roadmap and ensure delivery. This role is an expert in connecting RBS to other business processes and may provide support to enterprise initiatives that integrate with RBS.

• Owns the RBS end-to-end Process Optimization workstream and works with stakeholders to design and optimize RBS processes end-to-end to enable customer value and regulatory compliance.

• Identifies and establishes the RBS process current and desired future state, and develops a roadmap relating to process data, supporting technology, process operations and controls required to ensure dependability, scalability and defensibility in the context of regulatory requirements. Works directly with change management and corporate communications to ensure all appropriate training and key adoption metrics are developed and tracked. Assists in communicating desired future state across Parexel departments, functional and sub-process groups.

• Drives changes and/or enhancements to the processes to realize RBS objectives.

• Leads a designated team of representatives in support of achieving clear process strategies and goals, and periodically engages additional staff on a time or allocation basis, and as agreed upon with executive and/or functional leaders.

• Ascertains, reviews and addresses RBS processes and sub-processes effectiveness and optimization challenges and works to mitigate and resolve risks and issues.

• Develops and delivers progress reports and executive summaries relating to RBS process strategies, expectations, and achievements

• Support continuous improvement culture development

• Assure that practices promoting continuous improvement are adopted by the organization to drive improvements in morale, quality, delivery, and cost.

Skills and Knowledge

• Business acumen and CRO and /or biotechnology industry knowledge and understanding of the regulatory context.

• Proven ability to analyze and optimize processes in line with strategic direction, goals and initiatives.

• Proven ability to successfully manage multiple significant priorities at one time, identifying risk areas, proactively determining appropriate mitigation strategies, managing change management and process obstacles and presenting alternatives for issue resolution.

• Demonstrated teambuilding skills, with the ability to effectively facilitate and positively motivate across functional groups and sub-process teams. Fosters and encourages frequent, open and honest feedback.

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of executives, management, internal team members, customers and other stakeholders and partners.

• Proven ability to exercise influence and gain and retain confidence and engagement from management and leadership.

• Ability to analyze operational performance with data-driven approach (data-mining, pivot tables,

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (MS Project, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and other PPM tools

• Provide leadership to periodic follow-up meetings with improvement teams to keep progress on

• track.

• Experience developing recommendations for post-implementation sustainment mechanisms

Experience:

• A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in business process optimization ideally with specific Clinical Research experience

• Demonstrated strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to present clear and concise information in context.

• Proven track record in delivering agreed results against a plan

• Proven ability to operate within a collaborative and multi discipline team environment

• Lean Six Sigma experience helpful but not required

• The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of delivering results in a high performance

• continuous improvement environment through implementation of and expertise with lean management methods. He/she will have earned a reputation for having successfully implemented process optimization management processes and led the change process.

• Possess the technical skills necessary to resolve a broad array of business issues (growth,

• productivity, quality, and margin).

• High degree of credibility to be convincing and persuasive at all levels of the organization

• Exceptional team facilitation skills

Education:

• B.A. or B.S. Degree or qualification in a relevant business discipline
