Reliability Engineer / Senior IT Operations Engineer

IQVIA CIO Infrastructure Automation service is designing, delivering and maintaining global corporate systems to leverage insource hosting with fully delegated and automated provisioning and management systems.

Reporting to the Software architect, the reliability engineer oversees the technical roadmap of automation systems and products, its promotion to both internal customer and collaborating teams. You will be customer-focused, have automation skills, documentation skills, and a passion for working in a collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the technical roadmaps and handle communication about them to internal clients

• Own the IQVIA CIO process compliancy of the services

• Gather requirements from internal clients and suggest updates to the roadmap accordingly

• Design and implement tools and software to assist in operations and support

• Produce and implement reusable / configurable solutions for the purpose of configuration, application testing and deployment, file management, performance, and systems health monitoring

• Define Service Level Agreement for the services owned by the team

• Build relationships external to the team, including internal clients

• Monitor, maintain and expand the continuous toolchain to minimize service outage during software updates

• Mentor and train other engineers throughout the company to promote eligible products to standard

• Work with and influence other departments and cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality and downtime issues and improve performance

• Streamline and simplify existing maintenance activities when required to improve service level

• Follow ITIL and Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change management processes

• Define indicators and dashboards about service level and product performance to publish for internal clients and management

• Duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time for operational reasons, such as the implementation of continuous improvement projects and/or procedural updates

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Solid background in querying and design relational database, such as Oracle MS-SQL Server and PostgreSQL

• Outstanding Organizational and prioritization skills

• Excellent oral communication and influencing skills

• Exemplary report writing skills

• Well-developed problem-solving skills

• Highly proficient in spoken and written English, able to run virtual meetings and presentations in English

VALUABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and/or Configuration Management (Terraform/Ansible)

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration (Jenkins)

• Usage of working with Version Control system (Subversion/Git)

• Strong documentation skills

• Experience with building runbooks

EDUCATION

• Master’s degree in Engineering

• 5 years of technical experience in software operations

• Experience in working with ITIL based process and Service Now
