As a Senior Histology Technician within the Pathology Laboratory Services team based in Eye, Suffolk your main responsibilities will be:

  There are no direct managerial duties and responsibilities but is expected to provide guidance and leadership to other histologists/operational personnel in a comprehensive range of operational functions. To have a clear understanding of GLP/SOPs and their implications for Histology, and to work in strict accordance with GLP/SOPs at all times.  To be competent in all H&E histology-based operational procedures To be able to prepare and analyse productivity and quality data and parameters for self and team as required.

There will be opportunities to cross train in the other areas of Pathology Laboratory Services.

Preferably BSc degree or equivalent in Biomedical Sciences or a relevant subject. Experience can be substituted for education. Experience:

Experienced histologist with experience working with animal samples within a CRO/ Pharma company. Ability to work as part of a team and learn new techniques Ability to follow instruction and pay attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritise work in line with departmental needs and a flexible approach to work Understand the role of others and liaise, collaborate and demonstrate effective communication
