In this position youwill support and perform sample analysis for the biophysical and physiochemical characterization and stability evaluation of biological compounds deemed as critical bioanalytical reagents to support drug discovery, development, and filings of INDs, NDAs, and other regulatory submissions methods in alignment with Translational Medicine (TM), and the client policies and procedures. Biological reagents are defined as monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies, proteins, DNA, RNA and lipids.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Process bioanalytical samples using fit for purpose or validated methods.

2. Analyze samples using quantitative and qualitative assays with biophysical and physiochemical methodologies (i.e. spectroscopic, chromatographic and mass spectrometric)

3. Maintain a safe work environment by following all established safety and universal precautions guidelines and procedures.

4. Provide management and clients with reports/data as required following the departmental policies and procedures.

5. Ensure compliance by following GCP and GLP guidelines; and adhere to specific BMS policies and procedures outlined in training courses, work instructions, and BMS SOPs.

6. Perform routine chemical conjugations of biological reagents. Follow conjugation protocols and perform routine protein purification.

7. Achieves objectives in a manner consistent with the BMS BioPharmaBehaviors.

8. Database entry into Inventory system, ELN in order to support normal operations.

9. Prepare and make scientific presentations at internal meetings.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 1 year) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience In some cases,an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in Biochemistry and Cell Biology as related to protein purification and modification is a plus

Operational and theoretical understanding of mass spectrometric, HPLC, UPLC, CE, SDS-PAGE, IEF, and spectroscopic techniques

Good theoretical understanding of immunoassays: ELISA, ECL, EIA, RIA, Western Blot, BIACore, immunogenicity assays, cell based assays, receptor assay, biolayer interferometry, and SPR techniques is a plus but not required

Good understanding of basic analytical concepts (concentration units, pH, calibration curves, QCs, compliance, etc)

Good basic analytical lab operational skills (pipettors, balances, computer skills, etc).

Ability to read and follow method or research protocols

Ability to write in a concise fashion in order to record all pertinent data in lab notebook.

Experience with LIMS systems for sample processing, data handling, and archival

Ability to multitask

Experience with Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Demonstrate scientific/technical proficiency.

Organized and detail oriented

Ability to work independently

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Time management and project management skills

Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
