As an Animal Care Technician  you'll be working in our Animal Research area. This is day time hours, starting pay rate for candidates that do not have prior animal husbandry experience is $13.00 per hour with fantastic opportunities for growth and advancement.  Pay rates may be higher for candidate with 1+ years of experience in animal laboratory care, animal farming operation, veterinary office or animal boarding experience. 

 

In this role you’ll provide basic care and sanitation for research animals, duties include but not limited to Clean feeders, water bottles, clean animal cages and other items. Cleans and sanitize animal rooms or pens, hallways, stairways, and non-animal rooms. Learns to observe animals for general health and general animal room standards. Maintains well documented laboratory records according to GLPs. Recognizes and documents unusual occurrences and notifies supervisor. Collects, records, and learns to review applicable hand recorded and computer generated data.

To qualify for this position you need a passion for providing excellent care to animals, prior small and large animal handling experience is preferred by not required. Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices. Ability to work overtime as needed. Extensive training is provided! 

 

Work hours are 6:30am -3:30 pm Monday-Friday and requires working every 3rd weekend which is typically overtime. Outstanding benefits including 24 days of PTO in the first 12 months of employment, tuition reimbursement, 3 medical plans, dental, 401K matching funds

 Education/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, stable work history. 

 

Prior animal care experience in research setting, farm experience or animal care experience is desired but not required.  Experience:

Prior experience working in a cleaning role or working with animals is preferred but not required.
