  Job Summary Charles River Laboratories – Canada Safety Assessment is seeking to hire a Veterinary Clinical Pathologist II for our Senneville (Montreal) site. 

Charles River Laboratories‑Senneville employs a multidisciplinary group of scientists and technical staff that conduct investigative and IND-enabling preclinical studies in non-human primates, dogs, rabbits, minipigs and rodents for drug development for pharmaceutical companies. The Clinical Pathology laboratory is equipped for hematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis and other specialty analyses. The successful candidate will join a group of 4 clinical pathologists and a laboratory staffed by 23 laboratory technologists and support technicians as well as a global group of 17 board certified clinical pathologists located in the USA and Canada. In addition, the Clinical Pathology department in Senneville (Montreal) interacts with a highly qualified staff of 10 board certified anatomic pathologists and more than 40 toxicologists, scientists and laboratory animal medicine veterinarians. 

The primary duties and responsibilities of the role include: Interpretation of study-related clinical pathology data  Generation of clinical pathology reports, as well as cytologic evaluations (i.e. bone marrow, blood smear, and effusions) Provide scientific guidance and leadership to the Department of Clinical Pathology  Additional responsibilities include participation in scientific activities/projects related to Clinical Pathology within the regional and global organization  

The requirements of the role include: D.V.M or equivalent veterinary degree Board certification or board eligibility in clinical pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) or by the European College of Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ECVCP) Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in French is an asset but is not mandatory Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work as a collaborative team member is essential
