Sr. Database Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Senior Data Engineer (Sr. Application Development Specialist) is a senior position in our development team who should be able to architect solutions, guide our developers, and also be willing and excited to write code. Most often you write the first prototype that the rest of the team goes on to build and implement.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge of academic field(s) or discipline(s):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or knowledge acquired through equivalent experience.

Work experience: -

• 4 - 10 years of SDLC experience in database development and ETL.

Knowledge of technology:

Mandatory qualifications:

• Strong design experience in DW/BI platforms.
• Strong data modeling & data architecture experience.
• Strong experience developing ETL/ELT solutions using SQL and stored procedures, preferably Oracle & PL/SQL.
• Experience developing on cloud platforms.

• Well versed with defining KPIs, building dashboards and reports
• Software development experience in Python or Scala, tools like Git, Airflow and platforms like Spark or Hadoop.
• A drive to cut through requirements or the lack of it, learn and implement solutions as quickly as possible.
• Guide our software development team members on best practices and help them resolve bottlenecks in all areas above.

Nice to have experience:

• Experience developing on cloud platforms,
