Who You Are:

You are a strategic problem-solver with experience supporting Legal department operations. You understand how in-house attorneys and a Legal department function. You are an effective communicator with leadership experience, financial acumen, project management skills and technical savvy. You take a collaborative approach to your work and can successfully manage competing deadlines and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will lead a team of professionals in developing and implementing tools, processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of ICON's Legal team. You will play a key role in optimizing Legal department performance byIdentifying and executing on initiatives that build efficiencies and enhance productivity across the department and key stakeholder groupsFacilitating budget management and financial forecasting, serving as legal department primary point of contact with the Finance teamDeveloping and managing processes that optimize outside counsel and vendor spendOverseeing the legal department's technology strategyBuilding, executing and supporting training and outreach within and outside the departmentDeveloping, tracking and analyzing key legal department metrics and KPI'sStaying current on developments in Legal Operations best practices including emerging technology to identify continuous improvement opportunitiesYou will work in a highly collaborative and dynamic environment requiring you to adapt to changing priorities and business needs and to be proactive in identifying and responding to emergent department needs.

Additional Responsibilities: Manage the legal department policy portfolioProvide RFP/RFI and audit support to legal department subject matter expertsDevelop and maintain self-help toolsManage legal department Intranet page contentProvide support to legal department meetings including all-hands meetings and external and internal educational eventsManage special projects as required or requested

What You Need to Have :B.A. or B.S. requiredMinimum 8 years of experience in a legal department, law firm, or relevant operational management role including at least 2 years of experience leading a team, paralegal experience preferredDemonstrated ability to combine strong analytical skills, qualitative analysis and people skills to solve complex business issuesDemonstrated ability to communicate concepts clearly, accurately, and succinctly to a wide range of audiences, both orally and in writingDemonstrated ability to influence and direct in dotted-line relationships and matrixed organizations, ability to establish consensus across functional areasStrong project management skills, demonstrated ability to independently move cross-functional projects forwardBudget management and forecasting experience, as well as experience working with a Finance teamTechnical savvy and familiarity with legal enterprise software, tools , and applications, such as e-billing, document management , and matter management technologyExperience developing and implementing playbooks, policies, and procedures
