  Job Summary The Executive Director, Sales – North American Safety Assessment Sales  will o versee the Safety Assessment sales function, manage the sales team and perform high level sales activities to expand customer base and maintain existing base business.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•    Develop and implement short and long-term sales strategies and objectives to achieve the Company’s revenue goals for the Safety Assessment market.

•    Provide input on sales objectives, opportunities and competition to senior business leadership.

•    Develop and implement annual sales plans and supporting sales programs.

•    Develop and implement new sales practices and techniques across the entire business portfolio.

•    Formulate and implement policies and objectives to ensure the efficient and effective operation of sales force activities.

•    Partner with operational senior leadership to drive and design tactics, strategy and decision-making for new and existing products.

•    Develop an in-depth understanding of customer needs, buying behavior, purchasing and decision-making and recommend creative solutions, methods and procedures to meet customer expectations.

•    Develop and implement pricing and discounting to ensure rates are competitive while retaining profitability

•    Oversee and assist with developing training programs designed to teach staff how to sell the entire portfolio of CR products and services.

•    May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.

•    Ensure consistency in the selling process.

•    Direct activities of assigned group(s) to ensure optimum performance of the group/function.

•    Responsible for personnel management activities such as: scheduling, personnel actions (hiring, promotions, transfers, etc.), training and development, providing regular direction and feedback on performance, disciplinary actions and preparing and delivering annual performance and salary reviews.

•    Develop short- and long-range operating objectives, organizational structure, staffing requirements and succession plans.

•    Integrate activities with those of other major organizational units (e.g. segments, departments, functions).

•    Develop and recommend departmental budget and authorize expenditures.

•    Support the policy of equal employment opportunity through affirmative action in personnel actions.

•    Ensure adherence to pertinent regulatory requirements and to departmental policies, practices and procedures [SOPs, safety procedures and biosafety protocols].

•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  Job Qualifications

•    Education:  Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in life science related field. Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) preferred.

•    Experience:  Ten or more years related experience and/or training.  International experience highly preferred. 

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Certification/Licensure:  None.

Other:  Excellent leadership and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence at the highest organizational levels.
