Charles River Discovery have an exceptional new client facing position providing ion channel expertise to multidisciplinary integrated Drug Discovery projects and HTS campaigns, defining and implementing the scientific strategy to expedite project progression.

What you'll do

  • To provide ion channel expertise, to drug discovery projects, integrating in vitro and in vivo data to help define project strategy and deliver agreed project objectives.
  • To analyse, interpret, and quality control data to meet programme specifications including presentation of recommendations to Client Project Teams.
  • To collaborate across Charles River sites to identify and apply the right translational studies at the right time.
  • To work with scientific leadership within the department, including proactively influencing the departments scientific direction and developing optimised processes to improve effectiveness.
  • To contribute to Business Development activities (e.g. proposal preparation, discussions with potential clients).
  • To help promote CRL Discovery’s strong scientific reputation e.g. presentations at conferences/user group meetings, contributions to publications and preparation of marketing materials, engagement in platforms such as LinkedIn.
  • To develop others through coaching, mentoring and motivate others to fulfil their potential.
  • To embrace change and be a role model to maintain a high preforming team

Essential Skills

•    BSc or equivalent  in biological sciences •    Industry experience in pharma or biotech or other commercial organisations •    Experience with a wide range of ion channels targets  •    Experience with a range of in vivo/ ex vivo/ stem cell ion channel models •    Experience of working in multidisciplinary drug discovery project teams
