Role purpose:
▪ To provide medical expertise and supports to Emerging Markets for the launch of new products,
to manage the current portfolio and lead the KOL engagement strategy and ensure internal and
external compliance guidelines are respected
Role Requirements:
▪ Providing medical expertise
o Be seen as the medical/ clinical expert in the rare disease/ oncology therapy area
o Maintain state of the art and up to date product knowledge across the rare disease/
oncology therapy area
o Liaise with the market access team to facilitate national and local reimbursement for the
relevant portfolio
o Support the development and assessment of local study programs and market access
program in the emerging market
▪ Establish & Develop KOL/ stakeholder and market understanding
o Develop a KOL/ Advisor network to leverage opportunities for the client portfolio
o Prepare and approve medical/ speaker slide decks and client portfolio
▪ Develop and implement a medical plan
o Help develop & gain approval for a national medical affairs plan
o In collaboration Regional management team develop and affiliate project plan,
incorporating medical advisory boards and KOL development program
o Lead the medical input to develop the emerging markets strategy for the current portfolio
▪ Development of training & promotional materials
o Develop appropriate approved training materials and train new project staff on relevant
products/ indications
o Ensure all marketing/ promotional materials are in line with local regulations and internal
SOPs
Technical/ Professional Expertise:
• Experience in Oncology and Rare Disease
• 2-3 years’ experience in Medical Affairs role
• Demonstrable experience of KOL engagement is essential
• Significant experience and exposure to clinical data critique and analysis
Personal Specification:
▪ Fluent in written and spoken English
▪ Medical Qualification; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
▪ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
▪ Excellent planning and organizing skills
