Vice President, Global Clinical Operations

As a result of a rapidly changing operational environment, Parexel’s Global Clinical Operations organization is facing ongoing change to its strategy, and to people, process, technology, and culture. In the midst of these transitions it is business-critical for the GCO Leadership Team to remain laser-focused on productivity, delivery, compliance and operational excellence in line with NBA targets and the company growth strategy.

The VP, GCO Business Operations works closely with the Global GCO Leadership Team to enable data-driven Resourceand Capacity Planning, Productivity and Compliance for the GCO Service line of 5000 employees. This role pro-actively links GCO budget and NBA targets to Operational Delivery.

The VP, GCO Business Operations will be accountable for the following areas of work:

Productivity:Provide data to drive decision-making using KPIs, scorecards, benchmarking to competitors, customer & site satisfaction data, etc. Communicate data and expectations to all levels of the organization Influence for collective buy-in from the staff, make the "Why?" clear Increase accountability and ownership for productivity metrics Ensure sustainable progress/change is achieved Resourcing & Capacity Planning:Align resource & capacity planning with productivity metrics, NBA targets and growth strategy Ensure data driven hiring decisions are made based on reliable data points, in the context of the proposal pipeline, optimal utilization rates, attrition rates, country/region mixes, etc. Analyze current organization hierarchy/structure, optimize accordingly ComplianceTrack compliance across multiple data cuts, including by Study, Country, Region, Role, Group Benchmark current performance, set goals for improvement where needed Influence for collective buy-in from the staff, make the "Why?" clear Increase accountability and ownership for compliance, including looking for areas where we can make it “easier to do business” within our group and within organization Ensure sustainable progress/change is achieved

RELATIONSHIPS

This role partners with GCO Leaders, Finance and other business partners across PAREXEL such as Commercial to ensure a seamless approach to increasing the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of Global Clinical Operations in the context of NBA targets and growth strategies.

QualificationsSkills and Knowledge

Business acumen and CRO and /or biotechnology industry knowledgeExceptional analytical skills, the ability to interpret multiple complex datasets and explain the implications in context of the organizational needs, NBA and company strategyAbility to understand the strategic view while employing pragmatic approaches and solutions Solution minded and an advanced ability to influence beyond authorityStrong matrix management, collaboration in a complex environment. Recognizes connections and identifies synergies across the organization and in particular between Finance, Commercial and Operational Delivery in GCO.Removes obstacles that stand in the way of success and delivers value to stakeholders Demonstrates an energetic, 'make it happen' attitude, capable of thriving in a complex environment with an ability to build strong cross functional relationships Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with delivery to all business levels. Can communicate complex ideas in a simple, understandable and compelling manner Independent thinking with a flexible attitude to work assignments and developing new capabilities

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in business processes and finance ideally with specific Clinical Operations experience Demonstrated strong business acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to present clear and concise information in context.Proven track record in delivering agreed results against a plan Proven ability to operate within a collaborative and multi discipline team environment

Education:Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field.
