  Job Summary MAJOR ELEMENTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES 

•    Handle animals for any activity that may require a handler;

•    Demonstrate initiative and an interest to learn new procedures and to work with different species;

•    Prepare animal rooms in a timely manner to ensure that required supplies are available;

•    Clean all types of animal housing units and related accessories;

•    Ensure appropriate water is always available for all animals;

•    Remove domestic and biomedical waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers;

•    Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

•    Work is constantly performed in a laboratory animals with live animals;

•    Considerable sensory attention is required on a regular basis;

•    Work schedule requires flexibility as per job requirements.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS 

•    High School Diploma;

•    Relevant experience in a working environment;

•    Reading of English is required. Bilingualism is preferable;

•    Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;

•    Flexibility to work on changing work schedules, including weekends;

•    Ability to work in a team environment;

•    Working knowledge of related computer applications.
