PURPOSE

The Solution Architect role is a key role in the EMEA Provider & Site solution team. The role will ensure that all in-scope products and solutions meet the required standards - both in terms of technology, regulatory and privacy considerations.
The Solution Architect will work closely with the P&SS Solutions Manager and product owners/tech teams of existing products and solution and will be ultimately responsible for the tech transition required for Lift & Shift. This extends from single solutions or products to the combination of a number of products/solutions to create a new integrated offering.

Lift & Shift: 'lifting' an existing IQVIA PPG solution from one country and 'shifting' it to another.
PPG solutions needs to be localised to match the specific country healthcare needs and drivers - it's rarely as simple as just making it available, unlike some other industries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the EMEA PPG Lift & Shift, Acquire and Partner agenda + Provider Site tech enablement

  • Overall IT architectural oversight of all Lift & Shift solutions
  • Support the PPG Lift & Shift, Acquire and Partner growth strategy and ensure tech solutions underpinning the strategy are fit for purpose (tech / regulatory / privacy / localised)
  • Technical oversight on complex EMEA bids leveraging multiple internal and external tech stacks
  • Elaborate or review architectures to propose an architecture that respects our standards and delivers the best service
  • Identify technical and architecture risks and providing alternatives for improvements
  • Establishment of requirements related to the build of PPG solutions through working with appropriate product teams
  • Work with various IQVIA delivery teams and external teams (including 3rd party) to oversee overall solutions delivery as appropriate, including PPG country teams, Global technology teams and EMEA HRE team.
  • Support with ongoing solution development to meet current and future needs
  • Validation of technology solutions underpinning the Prime & Partner tech enablement agenda and especially be responsible for defining the RWE data requirements by Therapy Area to support Real World projects.
  • Advise on and support adoption of said TA data sets by the existing product teams (e.g. support the CTcue team with expansion of their data model to include additional data fields as required)
  • Drive the end-to-end engagement process with internal IQVIA stakeholders, including both global and local technology product teams, client site decision-makers and third-party vendors.
  • Help research teams evolve their data and technology strategy. 

Contribute to EMEA PPG solution strategy

  • Support business case development activities, include assessment of capital budget requirements
  • Deliver regular programme status reports where appropriate
  • Support programme strategy development and planning

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to devise and convey messaging, including value proposition to win and influence sites
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good command of the English language
  • Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to deliver results to the appropriate quality and timeline metrics, with good judgment and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience presenting to varying levels of leadership, with excellent fluency in PowerPoint to support presentation needs
  • Mastery of good habits of a manager: ability to self- direct, persevere, manage efficient meetings, communicate at the right time / right amount
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and business stakeholders
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of software development processes and procedures, including agile approach
  • Ability to support business case activities as it relates to scaling site and TA footprint
  • Knowledge of project management concepts, deliverables-driven planning
  • Roadmap development

  • Understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, databases, processing systems, web applications, cloud, big data (compute & hosting) and virtualization (servers and containers) (must)
  • Coding experience (nice to have)
  • Analytically minded; ability to translate challenges to implications and potential solutions
  • Knowledge of relevant data privacy legislation including GDPR, as well as other country specific information governance landscape and requirements
  • Understanding of European hospital information systems and patient data
  • Experience in research: basic understanding of clinical and real world research
    methodologies
  • Positive can-do attitude and good team player

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology or equivalent
  • 7+ years relevant industry experience in designing IT solutions
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working directly at or with provider sites
  • Demonstrated experience with account management or customer success initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience with initiatives that included change management and adoption of technology
