Prepare study materials prior to clinical pathology bleeding days.  Operate basic analyzers (e.g., urine macroscopic, slide stainer) and process toxicokinetic samples.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

•    Prepare materials needed, including tubes, study books and appropriate paperwork prior to clinical pathology bleeding days.  

•    Perform macroscopic urine evaluations.

•    Stain differential slides.

•    Manual entry of raw data into the computer system and review of all data as needed.

•    Process and check clinical pathology samples for analysis.

•    Process toxicokinetic samples.

•    Review documentation of functions performed as part of quality control requirements.

•    Perform all other related duties as assigned.

  Job Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:

•    Education:   High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (G.E.D.).

•    Experience:  0-6 months related experience in a laboratory setting desired.

•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

•    Other:  Experience with computer software programs is desirable.  GLP environment requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and accurate record keeping competencies.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

•    Must be able to perform procedures, which require, talking, hearing, walking or standing for long periods of time (75% of the work day), entering data into a computer, using appropriate instruments, reaching with hands and arms, working in narrow spaces, and wearing safety equipment (PPE) according to OSHA regulations and company standards.

•    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

•    Must be able to lift, move, manipulate, and/or hold heavy objects up to and including 30 pounds.
