MAPI Research Trust:

In collaboration with ICON, Mapi Research Trust is a non-profit, full-service provider, promoting the use of Clinical Outcomes Assessments (COAs) in studies, and encouraging exchanges of Patient-Centered Outcomes (PCO) and Clinical Outcome assessments information among academics, pharmaceutical companies, and health researchers. Job Description:

The Account Manager leads efforts to maintain and expand upon client relationships for assigned ICON Patient Centered Services (PCS) and Mapi Research Trust (MRT) service area(s), focusing on clinical outcome assessment (COA) licensing and translation. The Account Manager contributes to a portfolio of strategic accounts and is responsible for understanding clients’ business objectives, supporting or leading RFI/RFP responses and BD efforts across PCS, and ensuring that scoped project goals are met and delivered at the highest quality.

  • Oversees the project lifecycle (from proposal/award to delivery).

  • Ensures all services in scope are managed and delivered in a professional manner in order to reinforce client satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Coordinates with client services and other functional groups within the company to achieve on-time/quality deliveries, support shared milestone achievements, and manage study issues.

  • Organizes and leads regular operational meetings with key clients, coordinates action plans, and reports on outcomes (as required, governance meetings, project related meetings, finance, etc)

  • Provides direction and support to project team, including training, as required.

  • Ensures successful completion of change orders, invoicing, and revenue recognition, as required.

  • Actively supports the growth and integration of service areas within PCS and MRT.  

  • Drives understanding and awareness of PCS and MRT staff on the nature of client relationships and supports the building/broadening of these relationships.

  • Proactively supports new business opportunities and drives revenue growth through regular and meaningful communication. Promotes company products and services in an effort to maintain and expand the current and prospective client base.

  • Leads and/or contributes to the management of strategic clients, acting as the subject matter expert on COA licensing and translation services; handling client communications, client outreach and RFI/RFP response development and coordination with all stakeholders across ICON and MRT as needed.

  • Hosts and participates in meetings with internal and external clients on operational topics.

  • Ensures delivery of finished products at the expected level of quality within the set timelines.

  • Proactively and independently expands knowledge base on constantly evolving industry trends and news and best practices.

  • Continuously develops awareness of the pharma / biotech / medical device industry landscape as it relates to department specific service-related trends and challenges and guides awareness for PCS and MRT staff.

  • Such other duties and tasks as are allocated at the reasonable discretion of the Company.

To succeed you will need:

  • Excellent project management and customer service skills, including ability to communicate clearly with clients and resolve customer issues or complaints

  • Degree, preferred

  • 3-5+ years of experience in project management, client services and/or account management, B2B clients a plus

  • Experience in the domain of clinical outcome assessments (COA), a plus

  • Previous experience working remotely, preferred

  • Process-driven and strong attention to detail with superior organizational skills

  • Strong team player

  • Experience in managing multiple, varied tasks simultaneously and independently

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

  • Fluency in English both orally and in writing, experience working on international teams preferred

  • MS Office Suite
