The Global Corporate Communications Director develops, leads and implements Corporate Communications strategies to build the company’s reputation as a leader in the CRO industry with a priority focus on internal stakeholders. Works collaboratively within a team environment to ensure company communications are effective, engaging and delivered on time and on budget. Key contributor to companywide communications programs and events for key internal stakeholders, from the development of strategy, messaging and planning through the execution and measurement of deliverables. Develops and implements employee engagement strategies and events in support of strategic corporate initiatives. Provides back-up support as needed to support additional Internal Communications and External Communications initiatives.

Internal Communication/Employee Engagement:

  • Contributes to the development and execution of Internal Communications plans and strategies, including support for general corporate initiatives and key areas within the business to meet company needs.
  • Writes, manages and implements strategic employee communications to ensure high-quality, effective and consistent delivery of key messages and information. Vehicles for delivery may include corporate intranet, blogs and on-line discussion forums, video messages, webcasts, Town Halls and other employee forums.
  • Creates, manages and implements global Internal Communications initiatives to engage employees as active ambassadors in the company brand and key contributors to the organization’s business success. This includes Company-wide Town Halls, the VP Forum, other Internal event support.
  • Key contributor to the annual Global Leadership and Sales Summit and other internal/external corporate/special events and internal meetings, including quarterly VP Forum and Town Hall events, the Parexel Connect regional employee engagement initiative and other special events. Supports the management of meeting logistics and external resources in the development/execution/delivery of successful events.
  • Provides communications support for companywide change initiatives (e.g., strategic reorganization communications) and/or M&A internal communications as needed.
  • Contributes to development of metrics/analyses that demonstrate the value of Internal Communications efforts to the Company.
  • Liaises with external partners to deliver internal communications projects and programs.
  • Travel up to 10% based on project needs, including domestic and international travel.
  • Oversees management and tracking of the Corporate Communications’ department budget working with the Project Specialist.

People Management:

  • Provides day to day direction to a small team of Corporate Communications Managers and Specialists.
  • Accountable for managing performance and developing staff to ensure staff meets company, departmental, and individual goals.

Skills:

  • Senior writer with excellent project management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and work in a collaborative team environment
  • Strong project manager/ability to manage and produce Town Halls/other large-scale meetings/events
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet the challenge of multitasking and delivering to tight deadlines
  • Oversees management and tracking of the Corporate Communications’ department budget working with the Project Specialist.
  • Expert in web-based registration tools (Cvent) and mobile applications
  • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
  • Able to work with and influence senior business leaders
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, progressive and dynamic environment
  • Ability to adapt to cultural differences and work in a global environment
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

Knowledge and Experience:

  • 12-15 years of Corporate Communications (Internal Comms) experience, ideally with background that includes External Communications and/or integrated communications
  • Several years’ experience in CRO/life sciences industry; public company experience preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications/Strategic Communications or English or equivalent experience required
