About You

The role

The Competitive Intelligence team are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join their team as an Associate. As an Associate with IQVIA Consulting Services, you’ll be responsible for actively participating in the development and delivery of CI consulting projects. You will be dedicated specifically to our Competitive Intelligence (CI) solutions team.

Typical projects include supporting clients to understand the competitive environment in which they operate by analyzing the landscape of pipeline and marketed products of key competitors, their positioning, value added, and differentiation strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting independent desk research to a specific brief using internal and external sources
  • Attending key medical and commercial conferences with the objective of analyzing clinical data and speaking to delegates and experts on assigned topics
  • Conducting phone or face-to-face interviews with external experts
  • Performing qualitative (scientific, clinical, commercial) and quantitative analyses
  • Developing recommendations and exercising informed business judgment to address client issues
  • Delivering best-in-class customer service to keep clients informed of major events and implications related to their businesses
  • Contributing to the preparation, execution and follow-up of client workshops
  • Dependent on level, taking ownership of work stream(s) in a project with senior support
  • Taking responsibility for creating client-ready reports, presentations and other deliverables
  • Presenting to client audiences via teleconference and/or in face-to-face meetings
  • Building professional relationships with members of the client team
  • Proactively developing knowledge of the healthcare industry and consulting methodologies
  • Assisting in proposal development
  • Contributing to recruitment

Required knowledge, skills & experience:

Relevant experience gained from working within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry or in consultancy

  • At least 2-4 years relevant experience gained from working within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry and/or in a healthcare consultancy
  • An advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MPharm, PharmD) in a life sciences-related field or an undergraduate degree in life sciences with previous commercial experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent written and verbal language skills English. Multiple languages are a plus
  • In-depth understanding of a medicine’s life-cycle including the development, regulatory and commercial aspects of global markets
  • Understanding of different healthcare settings and reimbursement of medicines in major markets
  • Understanding of the treatment paradigms across multiple therapeutic areas
  • Proven analytical, interpretative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills and an ability to build credibility with external contacts
  • Good commercial awareness to include an understanding of sales and marketing tactics in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent computer literacy e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Good project management, time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality work within defined timelines
  • A keenness to learn and commitment to a rapid development curve
  • A strong motivation to thrive in a client-focused, international team environment

  • A willingness and ability to travel (nationally and internationally) approximately 30% of the time
