We are currently looking to attract a GL Accounting Associate Manager with German to join our global Accelerated Enrollment Solutions (AES) General Ledger Team. In this position you will be responsible for accounting activities for Germany.

Key roles and responsibilities of the GL Accounting Associate Manager with German are: Coordination and review of full general ledger accounting in line with accounting standards and statutory requirements under German GAAP Preparation of annual financial statement and tax return according to the German accounting, tax and legal requirements Cooperation with external tax advisors on submission of financial statement and annual tax return to the authorities Liaising with external tax and statutory auditors during tax and annual statutory audit ensuring timely and accurately responses to audit queries Financial reporting and analysis for management purposes Cash flow forecasting for German entity Monitor standard activities to ensure potential balance sheet risk areas are being proactively managed Conducts on-going accounting reviews, booking of adjustments and reclassifications needed to comply with German GAAP, group accounting policies and tax laws Actively participates in implementation of an accounting system Taxation: Prepares required information for monthly VAT return and assists in required tax compliance procedures Leads finance and business initiatives across functions and locations Analyses the differences between corporate general ledger and local German statutory ledger Builds customer relationships, consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope Cooperates with external partners and auditors on statutory audit, taxes and payroll related queries Identifies potential process improvements and participates in their implementation Develops, implements and maintains procedures and policies ensuring compliance with company guidelines Ensures career development of the more junior members of staff Accelerated Enrolment Solutions (AES) is a business unit of PPD that offers both sponsors and contract research organizations best-in-class site and enrolment solutions, with tiered offerings combining the expertise, as needed, of industry leaders PPD, Synexus, Acurian and Optimal Research.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will require the following skills and experience: First level university degree with a focus on business/economics, advanced degree in accounting or accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) At least 8 years of finance experience (experience as external auditor or accountant in international corporation will be an asset) Very good knowledge of accounting/financial principles Fluent communication skills in German and English (written and oral) Advanced business application skills in Microsoft Excel Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors Good business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments Excellent analytical and quantitative skills Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity
