Team lead / Senior Accountant Bank Accounting

PURPOSE
You will be a member of the IQVIA financial shared services center in Bratislava Slovakia, which is an integral part of our global financial shared services network.
On this position, you will be supervising a team responsible for accounting and reporting according to US GAAP for the Company’s legal entities in a number of countries. This will include mainly bank accounting duties to ensure the entities’ books are complete and accurate and are reported to the US parent company in a timely fashion each month. The primary focus will be to ensure strict adherence to US GAAP, internal financial policies, and ensure compliance with IQVIA Financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Support month end process within deadlines and instructions.

•Leading a team of accountants, oversee quality of work and performance 

•Reconcile Company’s bank accounts on monthly basis

•Book regular monthly journals and ad hoc adjustments as required

•Prepare or review accounts reconciliations on timely basis in accordance with Group internal control guidelines
•Ensure that accounting records are thoroughly maintained in preparation for independent audits.

•Provide full audit support during annual financial audits
•Provides training & guidance to more junior colleagues.

•Participates and manages departmental projects as needed. 

•Provide recommendations to improve existing processes and financial systems and suggest alternatives where appropriate.

•Ensure appropriate communication with all business partners and support business partners in financial decisions, if required.

•Maintain and improve technical accounting skills.
•Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•General Ledger Accounting background preferably with Finance Shared Service. Bank accounting experience is preferred.

•Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in accounting.
•Experience in leading team
•Strong communication skills – effective verbal and written communication skills in English language is a must

•Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
•Technical accounting skills.
•Good analytical and numeracy skills.
•Ability to identify financial issues and execute mitigating actions.
•Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
•Attention to detail and a high degree of intellectual curiosity; inquisitive.
•Ability to exercise judgment within procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and managers.
•Sense of urgency and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work requirements to meet deadlines.
•Strong customer service focus, with a drive to ensure that we exceed the expectations of our customers.
