Performs duties related to the maintenance of experimental animals such as feeding and caring for animals, cleaning cages, holding animals for treatment by laboratory technician or maintaining inventory and animal identification records. Performs cleaning/sanitation of animal facility and equipment.

We are seeking aTemporaryAnimal Care Technician 1 for ourDiscovery site located inMorrisville, NC.

Responsibilities: Perform animal cage changes under direct supervision. Perform routine health assessments; report issues to supervisor. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance and general upkeep of assigned equipment. Operate tunnel, rack washer, bedding dispenser, and large autoclave as assigned. Perform routine cleaning of glassware, instruments and laundry. Receive and prepare animal food and bedding.

Qualifications: Education: High school diploma, or equivalent required. Experience: Zero to one year of experience in the maintenance of a clean room environment and the handling of hazardous waste.
