As aScientist, you will use state-of-the-art technologies to support the Manufacturing Support and Technology Group to provide analytical support to manufacturing by performing HPLC, separation chemistry, and data acquisition while working onsite at the client lab facility.

Additional responsibilities for the role on site at a major biopharmaceutical company:

Possesses a thorough understanding of laboratory procedures and can reliably conduct complex analysis with increased independence.Performs a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures to quantitatively measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds in a variety of formulations and/or biological matrices.Follows validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic direct supervision.Responsible for review and compilation of results and data comparison against SOP acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol and product specifications.Enters data into databases and reports.Performs self review for own data prior to QC submission.

Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Chemistry, Biology) or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualificationPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2 years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience. OR Masters degreeDesired Experience:It is highly desirable that the candidate have a solid background in computers and/or data acquisition systems such as Waters Empower and Molecular Devices SoftMax Pro.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Demonstrated knowledge of multiple applicable techniques such as: HPLC, Biopharmaceutical Testing, and UV-VisDemonstrated knowledge of separation chemistryHave experience in pharmaceutical research and development or in providing analytical chemistry support.Have working knowledge of GMPPossess working knowledge and/or experience in modern biologic analytical techniques, including HPLC, immunological assays, etc.Have training in or will be trained in areas such as chromatographic methods, use of analytical tools and other pharmaceutical analysis.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, JMP, EmpowerProven ability to interpret data by performing trend analysisProven ability in technical writing skillsAbility to independently optimize analytical methodsProven problem solving and troubleshooting abilitiesGood written and oral communication skillsTime management and project management skillsAbility to work in a collaborative work environment with a teamWorking Environment:   PPD values the health and well being of our employees.
