Associate Medical Director, Medical Information

IQVIA are looking for an Associate Medical Director with an expertise in Medical Information to lead the development of medical information content, including SRDs, FAQs, and customised responses. As a member of the Medical and Patient Communications team, you will be responsible for leading and reviewing the work of a global team of medical writers and serving as the scientific lead in communications with client and the larger IQVIA team. You will also work closely with colleagues with a variety of medical affairs and safety functions throughout IQVIA.

The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in a medical or scientific discipline, plus extensive experience in communication, review, and medical direction in a variety of therapeutic areas within Medical Information environments. Responsibilities include:

• Directing the medical writing team in the development of high-quality medical information content targeted to HCPs and patients
• Reviewing documents for completeness, medical accuracy, scientific balance, and compliance with company, industry, and country guidelines
• Providing senior-level oversight and input into literature search strategies, critical evaluation of results, and data visualization
• Leading meetings with relevant stakeholders, presenting scientific/clinical concepts and facilitating discussions as required.
• Cultivating strong, long-term relationships with internal and external clients and key decision-makers and assisting them to achieve their goals through high quality medical information solutions.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the IQVIA organization to develop innovative solutions
• Assisting in the development of SOPs, process documents, and team training
  Serving as scientific/clinical expert, in the development and delivery of proposals/pitches, with a particular focus on medical information and medical affairs solutions
• Working closely with account teams to lead on project specifications, cost estimates, proactive planning, and problem solving
• Acting as an ambassador for IQVIA by participating in relevant industry forums, contributing to thought leadership activities, and establishing a reputation and network within the wider medical communications industry.
  

Skills and Experience required:

• Extensive experience in communication, review, and medical direction in a variety of therapeutic areas within Medical Information environments.
• Knowledge of Medical Information business objectives, services and operating procedures
• Experience providing direction to medical writing team and monitoring outputs, ensuring quality, compliance, appropriateness and profitability
• Familiarity with research approaches, literature search tools and reference management databases
• Expertise in a variety of therapeutic areas
• Proven ability to coach and train team members
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, clients and suppliers
• An advanced pharmacy, scientific or health care degree along with 7 years’ medical information content development and leadership experience
