The Scientist II willbe responsible for the production, purification, analysis and quality control testing of viral antigens and tissue controls, recombinant proteins, standard immune and non-immune sera, cell stocks, microbial seed stocks, and serology reagents, such as conjugates, substrates, and diluents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Share responsibility for developing/planning diagnostic/QC R&D project activity and/or new product development Provide results and/or technical assistance to external customers via verbal and/or written communication. Assist supervisors in interpreting diagnostic results and provide technical consulting support to a laboratory department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree (M.S./M.A.) in a scientific related discipline. Two - six years previous directly related laboratory experience in immunoanalytical experimental design and execution, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and result presentation. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Full understanding of regulatory requirements of study types assigned, as well as Testing Facility SOPs and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), as appropriate. Molecular biology experience for expression, production and purification of recombinant proteins. Knowledgeable about ELISA and/or multiplex technologies and assay development. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Able to prioritize work and meet deadlines under minimal direction. Proficient in computersin the use of standard software with standard laboratory calculations including MS Office Suite.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D/D.V.M. Proficiency in the use of analytical instrumentation software such as SoftMax Pro, MSD, and Watson with the ability to troubleshoot for routine and non-routine work
