Are you an experienced clinical research leader with experience directing global portfolios in Oncology and Hematology clinical research?

The role

As a Director, you will provide leadership to a global Project Management to effectively manage the activities on large, cross functional portfolio of Oncology studies. At ICON, you will be working at the forefront of innovation, collaborating on projects in translational medicine, immuno-oncology, cell and gene therapy and more, with opportunity to support First-in-Human and First-in-Class drug trials. Our adaptive design expertise underpins our ability to accelerate delivery of new therapies to patients and will broaden your experience in this exciting field.

Develop full service project plans for portfolio of studies and subsequently lead cross functional study teams in accordance with contractual timelines, client specifications and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs)Effectively manage study budgets to ensure financial targets are met through regular review of indirect costs and project resourcesProvide coaching/mentoring to Project Managers (PMs) and contribute to department training initiatives, as appropriateCoordinate and manage the activities of individuals, studies and staff in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under controlContribute to the development and maintenance of cross functional project management plans; risk mitigation strategies, associated action plan and issue resolutionCollaborate Business Development, attending bid defence meetings and follow-up commercial activities

What you need

Proven leadership capacities, ideally as part of an Oncology focused, clinical leadership teamStrong, thorough knowledge of clinical development and Project Management practicesExperience in leading key client relationships, having an oversight of portfolio of work and successfully managing global cross functional projectsWillingness to travel up to 25% as neededUniversity/Bachelor's Degree in medicine, science or equivalent degree/experience desirable, as is a qualification in Project Management or equivalent (PMI certification)
