Key Account Manager - Pharma

IQVIA Holdings Inc.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

IQVIA™ is the leading human data science company focused on helping healthcare clients find unparalleled insights and better solutions for patients. Formed through the merger of IMS Health and Quintiles, IQVIA offers a broad range of solutions that harness the power of healthcare data, domain expertise, transformative technology, and advanced analytics to drive healthcare forward. Our talented 70.000 employees are driven, insightful and deliver a better way of doing things so that our clients can continue to deliver true breakthroughs while taking on more complex diseases.

The Team

It is an exciting time to join The Dutch IQVIA team; we are transitioning from an established data provider in the healthcare industry, to partnering with our clients to provide end to end solutions that significantly add value to their business. We do this by combining in-depth knowledge of healthcare, data, technology and advanced analytics, including artificial intelligence.
The Dutch local sales team is leading in this transition to the new go-to-market model. A client centric approach with true understanding of client’s needs, together with a thorough understanding of the IQVIA CORE (capabilities) will ensure business growth and a successful future business model. We aim to bring a multi-disciplinary way of working in engaging with clients, directing the sales process toward solutions to our client’s issues, rather than selling products themselves.

Role:

To further the transition and reinforce a robust future growth, we are seeking to hire a Key Account Manager. This person reports to the Commercial Director and should bring a thorough understanding of the Dutch healthcare landscape:

  • Driving new revenue streams - building on new and existing relationships we have established with clients.
  • Taking on sales responsibility for our key pharma accounts, allowing us to have client discussions on a strategic level, enabled by the right seniority level and market knowledge this role brings.
  • Driving strategic initiatives, such as further implementation of our go to market model within IQVIA Netherlands.
  • Further explore and implement the opportunities to engage and cooperate with University MC’s in NL.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain excellent client relations with our pharma accounts by proactively discussing the portfolio strategy with executives and senior leaders and become a trusted partner.
  • Further develop and execute the new IQVIA go-to-market-strategy, based on a client centric approach.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the healthcare industry to maximize value we can offer to clients by offering industry-wide insights and relevant trends
  • Map out specific customer needs and align the internal IQVIA organization accordingly, making sure we not only understand but also deliver on customer’s strategic needs and expectation.
  • Develop a good understanding of the breadth of IQVIA capabilities to maximize ability to grow our services within pharma accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with IQVIA colleagues across the organization to ensure they are engaged and aligned to the account strategy and support new business opportunities within clients. Work closely with colleagues to pull together successful, complex solutions for clients.
  • Methodical completion of underpinning sales activities (eg account planning, financial reporting, opportunity management etc).
  • Effective execution of solutions against client needs and IQVIA revenue targets
  • Help raising the general profile of IQVIA in the healthcare and life sciences landscape
  • Ensure compliant working methodology internally and externally

Education, skills and experience required

  • At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry including a Brand Team position. Agency experience is a pre.
  • Evidence of profound understanding of Dutch healthcare landscape. Experience with and network in (academic) hospital landscape is a pre.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • Proven track record of managing a balanced pipeline of short-term tactical opportunities to long term strategic engagements.
  • Evidence of a successful record of solution selling across a diverse portfolio of capabilities.
  • Able to develop a network of senior and middle management contacts to build long lasting trusted partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Dutch and English) with proven ability to interpret and present complex concepts.
  • Proactive and accountable with the aim to always drive positive client satisfaction.
  • Self-motivated, problem solving, driven to succeed. Can-do mentality. Team player.
