In return, we’ll help you build a career that you can feel passionate about. Job Summary We are seeking a Data Scientist, Tech Ops for our Microbial Solutions site located in Charleston, SC.  

The Data Scientist position is responsible for the collection, storage, and interpretation of data for the Technical Operations department. This position will analyze large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our company.

The following are the job duties & responsibilities related to the Data Scientist, Tech Ops: 

•    Collect, parse, and analyze data from instrument readings and testing results.

•    Transferring data into a format to make it more appropriate for analysis

•    Creating new, experimental frameworks to collect data

•    Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.

•    Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets.

•    Building tools to automate data collection

•    Searching through large data sets for usable information

•    Creating reports and presentations for scientific and business uses

•    Perform all other related duties as assigned

  Job Qualifications The following are the minimum qualifications related to the Data Scientist, Tech Ops: 

Education:  

•    B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or relevant field

Experience: 

•    Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.

•    Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications

•    Familiarity with programming for data analysis; ideally Python, SQL, or Power BI

•    Knowledge or experience with machine learning and AI

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above

Skills and Abilities:

•    Write computer programs and analyze large datasets to answer complex problems

•    Find analytical solutions to abstract business issues

•    Demonstrate ownership and integrity of work

•    Must have a great team attitude and work well with others
