We are seeking an experienced Vivarium Study Support Technician 2 for our Insourcing Solutions site located in South San Francisco, CA.  

This role offers at $2000 Sign On Bonus, and pays $40.00 an hour.

Observe, monitor and document the health and physical environment within the client’s animal facility. Perform technical and surgery techniques in the vivarium.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    Develop an understanding of and regularly utilize available information resources and systems (e.g., SOPs, policies, computer applications). Document experimental data and  prepare data for inclusion in project report Ability to manage small studies and train staff Able to perform the following techniques:  Dosing techniques including but not limited to; PO, IV, SQ, IP, IM injection techniques in rodents / Various blood collection techniques in rodents / Necropsy and tissue collection Surgery support to include aseptic technique practices, compound calculations Provides support for complex models and studies requiring additional clinical observations, communication, special care, attention and documentation. Sound understanding of relevant Animal Care and Use Protocols and humane end points. Job Qualifications

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s of Science degree in a Life Sciences discipline and four (4) years related experience or CVT/LVT/RVT certification and four (4) years directly related work experience in laboratory animal husbandry and technical skills as detailed above OR High School diploma/GED and six (6) years directly related work experience in laboratory animal husbandry and technical skills as detailed above required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Certification/Licensure: AALAS Certification at the LAT level preferred.

Other: Basic computer skills required.
