We are looking for an Animal Care Technician 3 to join our Insourcing Solutions team, located in Lexington, MA.

 

Position includes a $1,000 sign on bonus.

In the Animal Care Technician 3 role, you can do that by providing the highest-level quality assurance and control, in addition to observing, monitoring and documenting the health and physical environment within the animal facility, as well as inspecting operation procedures to ensure the integrity of the research.

 

What you will do!

As an Animal Care Technician 3, you will review, comprehend, and comply with all SOPs and quality assurance standards pertaining to laboratory animals for research, as well as monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations. You will also perform animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, which includes, but not limited to: daily water bottle/automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required; record animal health concerns per SOP and/or specified protocols. In addition, you will maintain accurate records of animal breeding, health, and housing/isolator or support areas as required by the Institute and facility. You may assist with restraint, handling and manipulation of various animal species as assigned by the on-site supervisor or facility veterinarian. Job Qualifications  

Who are we looking for?

A candidate that possesses a high school diploma or general education degree is required; Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in animal or life sciences desired. Minimum of two years directly related to laboratory animal experience preferably in an AAALAC accredited facility. Interest in achieving ALAT certification upon eligibility.
