Parexel has an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5-8 years’ employment law experience to work for a top global Contract Research Organization (CRO) providing employment law counseling and project related leadership across the globe.  Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Global Employment Law, this role will support HR business partners and business leadership with non-competition restriction reviews for incoming employees, non-compete restriction analysis for departing employees, manage administrative matters and employment litigation, provide legal guidance on employment law related investigations, terminations of employment and company policy development. This role will focus on the Americas and EMEA regions. You will leverage outside counsel as needed managing usage to keep it within a strict budget and have accountability to bring matters and projects to closure in a timely manner while managing competing deadlines.

Education

  • J.D. from a top US law school

  • Bar Admission to any US state

Work Experience

  • Experience in the employment law department of a large law firm, with both employment litigation and employment law counseling experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of US employment law and strong interest to work on various country and multi-jurisdictional matters.

  • Experience with functional service provider business models, employee leasing issues, a plus.

  • In-house legal experience with a focus on employment law in a global organization is required.

  • Passionate about learning various country employment laws and providing practical, actionable legal advice (with assistance of outside counsel as required) consistent with the company’s culture and legal risk tolerance.

  • Proven project management skills designing and running large projects, keeping team members on task and driving conclusion of project on schedule.

  • Practical, customer service focused legal advice;

  • Strong experience with non-competition agreements (interpreting and drafting in practical, business minded way);

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and creativity in solving legal related business issues;

  • Superior decision-making skills, sometimes with limited information and time sensitive situations, and ability to drive matters to timely resolution;

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence without authority within all levels of the organization;

  • Commitment to finding business-oriented, practical solutions to challenging employment law matters; and

  • Ability to maintain a sense of humor under stress and strive to be easy to work with.

Work Location

 This is a remote position with preference for Boston Metro or Raleigh Metro area based attorney.  Attorney must work East Coast time zone traditional business hours regardless of location.
