Senior Director, Financial Controller

JOB OVERVIEW

Provides overall leadership and strategic direction to the key controllership and accounting teams within EMEA region. This role is responsible for driving a strong control environment across EMEA geographies, identifying opportunities for saving initiatives to drive EBITDA growth and improving key metrics such as cashflow generation. In addition, role is responsible for ensuring US and local GAAP compliance through application of consistent financial practices and policy and procedures across the region. The role will work closely with key stakeholders across EMEA leadership team and finance teams across EMEA geographies.

Responsibilities

• Senior Director position to lead the EMEA Finance Controllership team comprising 2 direct reports, reporting directly to EMEA SVP Finance.
• Partners with regional senior management to drive a strong control environment, including robust balance sheet management and review in accordance with IQVIA policy.  
• Collaborates with Internal Audit to ensure recommendations are implemented, managing US GAAP and local compliance challenges, and identifying and rolling-out best practice initiatives.
• Advises EMEA geographies on application of US GAAP, involving Corporate Controller’s Office and SVP Finance EMEA as needed.
• Leads cash flow and capital allocation initiatives, including, DSO management and reporting, management of capex spend and investment appraisal and tracking.
• Executes on finance integration and efficiency initiatives, including consolidation of legal entities
• Drives improvements in SG&A functional reporting to identify efficiencies and assess performance vs. targeted savings.
• Supports IQVIA wide operational excellence processes (V22 program), delivering reporting and project status updates on various saving initiatives.
• Leads implementation of Cloud ERP within EMEA, acting as link between EMEA entities and business / operational stakeholders and global implementation team to ensure EMEA requirements are addressed and compliance with roll out timelines.
• Legal entity ownership for GB80 (key EMEA legal entity)
• Supports SVP Finance, EMEA to fulfil SAO and other UK compliance measures.
• Supports EMEA leadership team in other key activities such as integration of local and global acquisitions
• Collaborates with the business leads to analyze structured financial and operational reports to identify trends, anomalies and focus areas in order to achieve business objectives
• Inspires, motivates and fosters a high performing inclusive team. Focusses and leads their team in developing and operationalizing more efficient and productive ways of working. Routinely looks for, and delivers on, opportunities to streamline and improve processes

Education, Experience & Skills

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with minimum 10-12 years’ of progressively responsible experience in the finance function.
• Extensive knowledge of both US and International accounting standards, internal controls best practice and SOX compliance.
• Knowledge of financial systems, including ERP applications and reporting suites such as Hyperion.
• Proven track record of results working with senior management in a consultative business approach.
• Ability to influence outcomes.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies as they become prevalent and widely implemented including decision making, time management, and task prioritization.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and can make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
