Legal Director

PURPOSE

Lead legal business partner to the French CEO, leadership team and business, a member of the French leadership team representing legal, and responsible for ensuring that legal needs in the French business are addressed and taking accountability for ensuring transformative legal operational projects such as automation and new ways of working are implemented efficiently in France. As the CNIL is the supervisory authority for IQVIA and this role requires a comprehensive understanding of and experience with advising on and managing data privacy matters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that the French business receives appropriate and efficient legal and data privacy support
• Provide guidance and actively engage on all aspects of the business insofar as data privacy is concerned in collaboration with the global data privacy team
• Acting as navigator for the French business across legal functions and specialities globally
• Ensuring legal training and best practices are disseminated to the French business
• Accountability for adapting, driving and implementing acceptance and use of new legal templates, innovations and processes within France
• Collaborate with the French leadership team and legal to facilitate French business goals and objectives
• Manage litigation
• Develop excellent relationships across the French business and the global legal team

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 10 years post qualified experience and in-house experience
• Strong contract, data privacy and tech and pharma experience
• Management experience as there will be a small team to manage
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to embrace and successfully implement new processes necessary
• Excellent judgement with the ability to anticipate and identify issues.
• Ability to engage in complex problem solving
• Strong legal technical abilities
• Self reliant, hard working and results orientated
• Culturally sensitive
• Effective and tactful in involving and passing to other disciplines / managing parameters of legal involvement
• Fluent English speaker and ability to draft legal contracts in English and French required
