As a Senior Scientist you will performs complex laboratory analysis of pharmaceutical products and proficiently use analytical instrumentation, calculate and analyzes data and record data in adherence with PPD SOP's and the industry.

The Molecular Biology group is responsible for generating and characterizing all vaccine candidates utilizing our client's viral vector-based vaccine technology. They provide key molecular biology and cell biology support to all Client Vaccine projects and platforms. This group is also responsible for implementing new techniques and technology to improve high-throughput generation and screening of vaccine candidates, including high-throughput cloning and cell-based characterization.

For this position you should have a proven record in utilizing the most up to date molecular biology and cell biology techniques in a high-throughput environment, to take a role in generating and testing new vaccine candidates

Responsibilities:

•To provide expertise in the areas of DNA cloning, in-vitro RNA transcription and cell-based assay characterization of vaccine candidates

•Utilize high-throughput workflows for molecular biology and cell biology processes to generate and characterize vaccine candidates

•Work with other scientists to design and develop new assays and technologies to support RNA vaccine generation and evaluation

PPDFSPEducation and Experience:  

Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4 years).

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

Solid understanding and knowledge of general chemistry and separation scienceExperience operating liquid-handling robotics systems (Tecan, Hamilton) is required.Experience in molecular biology and cloning, including gibson cloning, mutagenesis, RNA production and isolation is requiredFamiliar with common molecular biology software, e.g. Geneious

Experience in RNA in vitro transcription techniques and familiarity with RNA based vaccine technology is preferredComfortable with cell-based assays to evaluate viral vector-based vaccine candidates, for example FACS analysis or High-Content Imaging is preferred

Full understanding of laboratory requirements, PPD & client SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidance Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks Proficiency on technical operating systems Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Effective oral and written communication skills Proven ability in technical writing skills Time management and project management skills Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities Ability to train junior staff Working Environment:
