Submission for the position: Director, Alliance Management - Biopharma, East Region - (Job Number: 179514)

The Director, Alliance Management provides global leadership and oversight for specific sponsor accounts (also known as alliance accounts) across all PPD business units and functions relative to the overall relationship with PPD. Develop and maintain, in collaboration with keyinternal stakeholders, the strategic account plan that drives the growth/development and further penetration of the PPD relationship within that account. To ensure a consistent and in-depth understanding of sponsor requirements by facilitating extensive needs assessment sessions at the sponsor sites collaborating with internal stakeholders and points of contact within the respective business units and functions. Provide goal alignment between sponsor and PPD, enabling PPD to continue to secure and retain business. Act as the liaison between internal operations teams and business development directors. Use a consultative approach with the client and proactively initiate activities with key decision makers at Sponsor Company. Mentor Directors, within Alliance Management as needed and provide coaching to more junior Business Development professionals on other PPD points of contact as it relates to specific sponsor(s) relationships.

This position has responsibility in five key areas: increasing margins, expanding the breadth of services for the given client, increasing market share, increasing client advocacy through development of relationships with influential sponsor individuals and increasing client satisfaction with all aspects of PPD’s service/delivery.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Business or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the job 5 years of experience required at minimum Highly prefer 8 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry Prefer 3 years in Operations or as a Director, Key Accounts

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Macro view or “Big Picture” of drug research and development Experience / understanding of how the processes work to meet sponsor requirements. Ability to prioritize and multitask Excellent communication / interpersonal skills Excellent negotiation skills Thorough understanding of sponsor business practices coupled with in depth understanding of PPD operational contract and financial practices Must have outstanding leadership skills to both guide teams and lead sales efforts Business Development acumen Conflict resolution skills Ability to influence both at the PPD operational level and sponsor level Ability to conduct a focused meeting to meet designated goals of agenda Excellent presentation capabilities and public speaking abilities Ability to foster collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally
