This position focuses on the supervision of technical staff and study assignments including coordinating work schedules to meet department needs.  Other duties include assisting in the management of the animal care program, the physical plant and development and improvement of programs to support company and department initiatives.

 

The following are responsibilites related to the Supervisor InVivo position: Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure department needs are met Maintain supply inventories including ordering as needed Order animals and coordinate arrival and housing  Supervise staff to ensure adherence to study protocols and animal care program guidelines Provide quality care and health monitoring for all animals Assist with SOP review, development and improvement Assist with audit and inspection report resolution Identify and address training and developmental needs of staff  Perform advanced in vivo technical and husbandry procedures Ensure a safe and clean work environment is maintained Clearly and accurately record and QC all study data Ensure that raw data records are accurate, complete and in appropriate order Input, edit and review all electronic data entries Identify and report any difficulties encountered with various aspects of study conduct as necessary Monitor performance of direct reports and provide regular coaching and counseling as needed Perform all other related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications The following are minimum qualifications related to the Supervisor InVivo position:

 

Education:   Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline.

Experience:  Minimum 5 years related experience in a preclincal research environment. Experience with research and investigative procedures, techniques and literature. 

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

Certification/Licensure: ALAT required, LAT preferred.

Other:  Ability to handle common laboratory species.  Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing to coworkers and supervisors. Proficient in basic technical skills and the operation of data collection equipment. Organization skills enabling effective management of multiple, concurrent tasks & priorities. Knowledge of GLPs and other federal regulations and guidelines relating to the care of laboratory animals. Strong understanding of study design and protocols.
